Michael Baca-Atlas completed his medical training at the University of Maryland before moving to UNC for his Family Medicine residency and Addiction Medicine fellowship. He now serves as the associate medical director for the Tobacco Treatment Program and medical consultant for UNC Horizons. As the medical director of UNC REACH Enhanced Primary Care, Michael focuses on treating patients with serious mental illness and substance use disorders. Outside work, you’ll find him traveling, experimenting with takeout-style cooking, or spending time with his spouse.

Matt Zeitler is a clinical assistant professor and Associate Program Director for UNC’s Family Medicine Residency. He completed his medical degree at the University of Maryland and his residency at UNC, where he served as chief resident. Matt practices full-scope family medicine across outpatient clinics, rural hospitals, and maternal-child health services. He also teaches procedures like vasectomies and point-of-care ultrasound and contributes to the Primary Care RAP podcast.

Before joining the UAB faculty, Matthew worked in community EDs where his love for teaching took root. He co-hosted Urgent Care RAP for years before taking the reins at ERCast. At home, he lives with his wife Erin, who is also a doctor, and their two daughters.
